Albert Haag has been employed for the past two years at Tikipunga High School as a full-time teacher in the Visual Art Department. He specialises in teaching Senior Art Design to NCEA Level 3 with Scholarship and has played a major role in the development and implementation of the junior art programme for years 7 to 10.
Albert is an extremely motivated and collegial member of staff and has developed effective working relationships within the Art Department and in the wider school community.
He has made outstanding contribution to the annual school magazine and to the design of the schools brand for purpose of marketing. In his involvement with professional development at regional and national Visual Arts association conferences and focus meetings, he demonstrates a commitment to increased knowledge of contemporary arts practice and new initiatives in education.
Albert’s belief in, and commitment to the achievement of our students is inspiring. In Albert’s classroom an individuals cultural aspirations are affirmed, there is a great deal of intrinsic motivation displayed by students, and expectations for achievement are high. Excellent departmental results are testimony to this pedagogy.
